Ait President, Prof Ciarán Ó Catháin, said: “One of the most significant aspects of postgraduate formation and research is the sharing of ideas and working in groups. It is an ideal which has repeatedly been stated in policy and strategy documents. In particular, the cultivating of networks across international boundaries represents added-value activity, and I am very pleased that the growing relationship between AIT and UniMAP is evidence of such a principal in action.”

The Vice-Chancellor of UniMAP, Prof Dr Dato’ Kamarudin Hussin, stated: “We acknowledge the competitiveness and challenges among institutions of higher education globally, especially in producing high impact research and products. Engineering, Science and Business is being attended by more than 50 researchers from Ireland, Malaysia, China and the UK. Delegates also include the President of UniMAP, Prof Dr Dato’ Kamarudin Hussin; as well as Dr Rosman Abdullah, the Malaysian Student Director for UK/Ireland; Zurina Ahmad Tejuddin, Charge d’Affaires, the Embassy of Malaysia, Dublin; and Terry McPartland, Enterprise Ireland.
