Sean Avery

Sean Avery controversial debate between previous fanbase during this period, including the many arguments that we’ve had here in this blog. Sean Avery is suggested by some, detested other forward the bad, and the second disappointment of the season after, the future as a Ranger New York is a clear question for 2011-12. He said the Redskins that we see the last of the “old Sean Avery” back and better than ever, but we didn’t. Once again we saw from Sean Avery, most of the coaching staff at the end of the season was stopped.

Back in March I wrote an article about the future of Avery in New York, and in that time was only a spiritually poor performance against the New York Islanders. In little more than seven minutes of ice time, Avery managed three penalties, of whom two were in the offensive zone. A wine in the game when it was very clear the Rangers would win, but despite the score are two hands John Tavares of the hind legs and spent the rest of the night on the couch.

76 games played for the Rangers in 2010-11, Sean recorded three goals and 21 assists for 24 total points. Three goals in 76 games is not what the 31-year-old winger is being paid $1.9 million to produce, nor do I think it's something he is going to be satisfied with looking back on it. Roster spots on this Ranger team are harder to come by each year, especially with all of the young talent coming up through the system, and stats like the ones Avery posted this year are not going to be good enough to remain a Ranger when his spot is being contested by a younger, more talented player.
