direct poly admission

direct poly admissionA number of students have asked how important their current school grades are for the DPA. While grades do hold a certain place in the selection process, it’s how you express yourself during the Essay and Interview sections that catch our attention more. The Process We’ll provide the link here as well on July 8 (the system isn’t up yet), but as a general overview applicants will need to: Register for the DPAMake Your Choices (up to 3)Write an EssayWait for an InterviewWait for the Results In between, there are some school / course specific things that you might need to do as well. We’ll cover those over the week.

The Essay For every course you apply for (you’re given 3 choices in total), you’re required to write a short essay to talk about why you’re choosing the course. During the application process, the system will also advise you on what you should talk about. Here’re some other points to bring up: Tell us why you have passion for the course.Give examples if you have experience in this skillset before – e.g. if you’re interested in Psychology and have experience working with people before, and analyzing how they think, that would be an interesting point to bring up.Don’t come across as a “great asset to join TP” – instead, try to come across more passionate and eager to learn.

If you feel your language skills aren’t strong, try to get the essay checked by (but not written by!) someone you believe have a better command of English. The Interview Process Shortlisted students will be called up for an interview with TP. Here’re some general things that can help you through your interview. Show Us You Want To Learn
This might seem odd, but there are times during an interview where students become more keen on talking about their achievements than actually showing their interest. Simply put – you want to enter the course to learn, and we are likewise keen for students to learn as well. Ask questions about the course, what got you interested you in the course and how excited you are to learn.
