
MotorheadMichael ‘Würzel’ Burston, the former guitarist of the metal band Motörhead, died yesterday (July 9th) from complications of heart disease. He was 61.A former army corporal, Würzel earned his nickname because of his similarities to British TV character Worzel Gummidge. After joining Motörhead in 1984, Würzel added the umlaut.A member of the iconic band until 1995, Würzel appeared in a number of the albums, including 1986′s Orgasmatron and 1993′s Bastards. He later rejoined his former bandmates for a number of on stage guest appearances, including at the Download Music Festival in 2008.Following Motörhead, Würzel embarked a solo career that saw the release of two studio albums. More recently, he formed a new band, Leader of Down.
