July 26 (APP): Chairman Senate, Farooq H. Naek has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the ideals and values of Commonwealth family and said the worst form of democracy was better than the best dictatorship.He was addressing the gathering of Commonwealth Speakers at the British Parliament.Farooq Naek, who is leading Pakistan’s Parliamentary delegation to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference 2011 (CPC), being held in London from July 21-27, said British parliament was mother of all parliaments.

According to a message received here from London on Tuesday, he said that the Conference would provide an excellent opportunity to learn from the British parliamentary practices evolved over the years and added that the Westminster Hall was full of history and magnificent architecturMr. Naek also delivered a vote of thanks at the dinner jointly hosted by the Speaker of House of Commons and Lord Speaker in the honour of Speakers from the Commonwealth countries who are in the London to attend the 57th CPC.
He prayed for the successful conclusion of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference and said that the delegations will go back with fond memories and experiences of different parliamentary systems in the member countries.
Pakistan’s delegation attending the Conference included Deputy Speaker, Faisal Karim KunSenator Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Senator OSHA Dar, MNAs Kashmala Tariq, Khurram Jehangir Watto, Ramesh Lal and Speakers of all four Provincial Assemblies as well as Secretaries of Senate, National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies.
