livejournal

livejournalWriteulus lets you adjust the background and text colors, along with the font face. After writing, you can save your work offline for easy access. You can use this app from any computer with a Google Chrome browser, making it easy to write on a plane, in a taxi, or on the train. If you want a super simplistic interface with some minor visual tweaks and you want to get started writing now, this app is the one for you. Plus the developer says it will make you sexier...and who doesn't want to be sexier? An excellent choice for the typewriter lover in all of us (or not, since you can disable it). Words will move up as you type, maintaining that old-style typewriter feel. Manual saving is available, otherwise the app will save your work every 10 seconds, and at the closing of each document. If you're writing something really boring, you can entertain yourself with the live word count at the bottom of the screen--and even set word count goal alerts. There's no keyboard shortcuts since there's a menu to help you customize the app to your heart's content.
